Product Description
Sodium gluconate is an organic substance with the chemical formula C6H11NaO7. It is widely used in industry. Sodium gluconate can be used as a high-efficiency chelating agent in the construction, textile printing and dyeing, metal surface treatment and water treatment industries, a steel surface cleaner, a glass bottle cleaner, an electroplating industrial aluminum oxide coloring agent, and a high-efficiency retarder and high-efficiency water reducer in the concrete industry.
Used as a cleaning agent for steel surfaces: When the steel surface needs to be plated with chrome, tin or nickel to suit special purposes, such as manufacturing tinplate, galvanized sheet, chrome plating (electricity), etc., the surface of the steel billet must be strictly cleaned to make the coating firmly bonded to the steel surface. At this time, adding sodium gluconate to the cleaning agent will achieve a very ideal effect. This has been confirmed by major international companies that manufacture tinplate. Used as a cement admixture: After adding a certain amount of sodium gluconate to cement, the plasticity and strength of concrete can be increased, and it has a blocking effect, that is, delaying the initial and final solidification period of concrete. For example, adding 0.15% sodium gluconate can extend the initial solidification time of concrete by more than 10 times, that is, extending the plasticity time of concrete from a few hours to a few days without affecting its strength. Plasticity and delaying the initial solidification time are very important issues in concrete operations. For example, in construction in high temperature seasons and large-scale engineering operations, delaying the initial solidification time is a difficult problem. Sodium gluconate can solve this problem satisfactorily. In addition, it is difficult to glue oil wells at high temperatures. After adding sodium gluconate, concrete can be plasticized within a few hours at a high temperature of 170ºC, so the above problem can be solved satisfactorily. Therefore, sodium gluconate has been widely used in important construction projects abroad as a cement admixture, such as a large number of bridge projects in the Middle East. However, our country has not yet promoted its application in this regard. It is said that sodium cellulose sulfonate is extracted from papermaking wastewater, and its effect is not comparable to that of sodium gluconate. In addition, it can also be used in electroplating and film manufacturing industries. As a polyhydroxycarboxylic acid type excellent corrosion and scale inhibitor, sodium gluconate has many special properties mentioned above. If we work hard on application technology, it will surely be developed into a large industry.
